The label positions around pheno-hunted craft cannabis. That phrase gets used loosely across this industry, so it is worth explaining what it actually describes and how you can tell whether a brand is doing it.
Pheno-hunting means growing a large population from seed, then selecting the individual plants worth keeping.
Every seed in a pack is genetically distinct, the same way siblings are. Most will be unremarkable. A few will express the aroma, structure or potency the breeder was aiming for. Finding those means growing hundreds and discarding most of them, then cloning the survivors so the cut can be reproduced.
It takes seasons and it is expensive in space and labor, which is why it commands a premium when it is genuinely being done.
Here is how you tell. Brands that actually pheno-hunt tend to number their cuts, because they are distinguishing pheno 4 from pheno 11 of the same cross. 710 Labs on our shelf does this openly with names like Spanish Honey #14 and Lozee #10. A brand claiming pheno-hunting with no numbered cuts anywhere in its range is using the phrase as a description of quality rather than of process.

Ask which phenotype you are buying and whether they run more than one of that cross. A house doing the work will have an answer. A house using the phrase decoratively will not.
Then judge the jar the way you would judge any jar. Frosted rather than dull, springy rather than crumbling, and smelling like something specific rather than generically green.
Ask when it was packaged. On craft flower at a craft price, a stale jar is the most expensive disappointment available.
Read the panel last and look past the headline THC number.
